What an incredible evening with The Cure and The Twilight Sad! It was one of many shows on their North American Lost World Tour. This was the second date at Shoreline and I’m betting the smaller crowd also, which I can completely appreciate at this stage of the game! The Cure care a lot about their fans and it shows! From offering affordable t-shirts to having 4 merch booths to go to, and also making sure scalpers didn’t take over the ticket sales, so that every fan who wanted to see them could rely on an affordable ticket price, it is clear that they care! Top notch class all the way! The Cure debuted 2 songs for the tour this evening; One Hundred Years and Closedown (a new song). For me this was the 5th time seeing them between 1986 and 2023 and all I can say is they sounded better than ever and totally hit the mark on every song. I was able to bring my kids to this show and we all left smiling, mesmerized and completely satisfied! Watching Robert Smith, Simon Gallup and Reeves Gabrels doing their thing together was pure magic and so moving. In true Cure fashion, they did 2 encores and really gave it their all the entire time. It was *hands down* THE BEST “A Forest” I’ve ever heard! Who knows when they’ll be back to North America, but I am certainly glad I didn’t let this tour go by without seeing them and sharing it with my kids, which made it even that much more special. Well done Blokes, we are so grateful and thankful for your North American visit! Here are a couple video clips of “If Only Tonight We Could Sleep” and “A Forest”. Ahhhh-Mazing!
